Sheffield, Illinois is a quiet town located in Bureau County on Routes 6 and 34 and just off of Interstate 80, exit 45.  

Interesting facts:

It is named after Joseph Sheffield, one of the founding fathers and an engineer with on the Chicago and Rock Island Railroad.
St. Peter's Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church is one of the oldest Danish Lutheran Churches in the United States, it was established Oct 24, 1869, it is available for weddings.  
Nearby is the Hennepin Canal Parkway Visitor's Center and Museum.  
Other points of interest are Mautino State Park, the Witness Tree, and McCune's Sand Prairie. 

     The Village of Sheffield was Established in 1852 and currently has a population of 946 with 418 households.

     The school system is Bureau Valley District Unit 340.
